Oxygen Test

Oxygen Test is essential for fish, plants and filter bacteria. The concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water can drop to dangerous levels causing hypoxia stress. For a healthy pond and fish, oxygen (O2) levels must be high. Cold water carries a lot more O2, so this is less of a concern in the Winter Months, unless ice covers the pond and prevents gaseous exchange. However, in the Summer Months the water temperature rises and O2 levels drop especially in humid conditions and at night when aquatic plants respire and use O2.

If worried about a lack of oxygen, then carry out an Oxygen Test and then run water in the pond spraying the surface to maximise aeration. Awareness of these water parameters will reward you with a joy to behold and a pond to be proud of. This Oxygen Test allows for 25 tests to be carried out.
